Made for television, Prisoners of Inertia first aired April 25, 1990, on PBS'
American Playhouse.
Amanda Plummer and Christopher Rich are a pair of New York newlyweds who see no earthly reason to emerge from the cocoon of their apartment. One Sunday morning, on a wild caprice, they decide to go out for brunch. Their impulsive foray into the Real World leads to a strange adventure in the wilds of New Jersey. Whimsy is one of the hardest qualities to sustain on screen, but Prisoners of Inertia holds up admirably throughout its 90 minutes. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
