Beaver (
Jerry Mathers) pleads with his dad Ward (
Hugh Beaumont) to buy him a typewriter, arguing that the instrument will improve his grades. Ward finally gives in, but only on condition that Beaver learns to type. This proves to be a near-unattainable goal -- and thus, when Beaver is assigned to write a composition for school, he pays Eddie (
