Should I laugh, wince or cry?
Should I laugh, wince or cry?
by
paul
A few directors have the ability to make me feel several emotions all at once. For me, that alone makes certain films worth watching.

This documentary feels, at first, like a classic "all bow to the artist" film. Quickly, the awe turns to laughter and then turns to a sort of tragic sorrow. By the end, Crumb is the only person in the room laughing and its a nervous kind of laughter you here when somebody wants the camera to go away.

Solondz bluntly dissects the empty promise of sex=happiness. I needed to shower after seeing this one. But this flick changed my life in some way and I don't regret seeing it at all.

Aaron Eckhart had my eyes as big as saucers. His cruel and infectious laugh had me laughing until I caught myself and made a conscious effort to stop.

Morgan Freeman is at the top of the list for friendly voice overs (March of the Penguins). He is the #1 feel good sidekick. But in Nurse Betty, his warm persona is creeped out when he plays a middle class assassin.
