Directed by James Isaac.
His thirteenth birthday fast drawing near, an unsuspecting young boy on the verge of a remarkable transformation remains completely unaware that an ancient prophecy is set to be fulfilled with the rising of the red moon. To most folks twelve year-old Timmy (Matthew Knight) would seem an average adolescent with a bright future on the horizon. In the tiny town of Huguenot, however, nothing is as it seems. As Timmy's health rapidly begins to take a turn for the worst, his concerned mother Rachel (Rhona Mitra) does her best to care for the ailing young boy. Though his mother may not have a clue as to what fate is about to befall her frightened child, a group of specially appointed guardians who have been watching over Timmy since birth know the truth about the events that are beginning to unfold. Timmy is a half-blood, and when the red moon is full the creature who once appeared to be a normal boy will finally gain the power to take control of his family's destiny. But until that fateful night, Timmy's life will be in constant danger by the renegade faction of lycanthropes who are willing to kill in order to maintain their vicious way of life. It won't be long until the red moon rises, and until that prophesized moment the forces of light and the forces of darkness will clash in the ultimate battle for true supremacy. Jason X director James Isaac takes the helm for a frightening tale of fate and fantasy co-starring Elias Koteas, Jason Behr, and Kim Coates. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

"ah nice points there good and wise Dr_. Although there has got to be something there in ' the dead living on the living'...I have to think further on that one. I am going straight to my evolutionary psychology texts! Or maybe it is as simple ( and deep ) as the consequences of breaking a/the cultural taboo.I did not realize the werewolf ( shapeshifting ) legends were so old, old as culture and present, it seems in all cultures. Is Vampirism? Do the original Vampire legends include the ability to turn into a Bat or was that a relatively new additional power? Both the Navajo and Hopi cultures have the Skinwalker belief/legend; there is a great link here: ( hell, I just noticed there is a film...Skinwalkers)http://en.w ikipedia.org/wiki/Skin-walker " [More]

"SKINWALKERS (2006) *PG-13 (for intense sequences of violence and action, some sexual material and language)1 hr. 50 min.written by: Todd Jason, James DeMonaco & James Rodayproduced by: Don Carmody & Dennis Beradidirected by: James IsaacNow here's a movie with no teeth that really bites. It's bad in a fun, laughable ways, and I'm not using "laughable" figuratively. I mean I literally laughed out loud at some of the things that happen in the film, things that were meant to be taken seriously. It's a "horror thriller" that is far from horrific and has less thriller than Michael Jackson (well, let's face it, Jackson has quite a horror thriller going for him all by himself). This film, deserves to be featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000 for so many reasons but even then many of the films on that show had some type of cult status. This one will never be a cult classic, in fact I don't know of any cult that would like it. So, um, the ... " [More]
