i have my own gnome story since my sister (inspired by this movie) stole my gnome when she went on vacation to England and took pictures of it on her trip. she then sent it to various friends and it was involved in many adventures. it visited Greece, Mexico, etc. it saw much of the country (more than i've ever seen), riding on a fire truck in San Francisco and visiting Las Vegas, Florida, NYC, etc. a year later she presented me with a travel scrapbook and a new gnome as the original had an accident in (believe it or not) Nome, Alaska.

i saw this movie first in 70 mm and was mesmerized. i've read all the Raymond Carver books, i have the soundtrack, and i have a script copy signed by Robert Altman (yes i'm a little obsessed).

one goal before i die is to make it to Lebowskifest. i've been close a couple times but it's never worked out. my husband doesn't really understand but i have 5 Lebowski T-shirts, two or three books, two bobbleheads, a framed poster, and two signed photos. addendum: just got the new action figures of The Dude and Walter! Walter's accessories include the ex-wife's dog and a coffee can. The Dude's accessories include sunglasses and (of course) a White Russian.
