Directed by Richard Loncraine.
A businessman becomes the last line of defense for his family and his business in this thriller. Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) is an upper-echelon technology executive at Landrock Pacific Bank, a leading financial institution based in Seattle. Stanfield oversees security for Landrock, and has made sure that their online banking services are the best-protected in the world, and that the bank's data is safe from hackers and other intruders. However, Stanfield finds out the hard way that his system does indeed have a flaw when he's visited by Bill Cox (Paul Bettany), a cold and calculating man who has spent months learning everything there is know about Stanfield and his family. Cox's underlings have taken Stanfield's wife, Beth (Virginia Madsen), and their two children hostage, and they inform Jack that they will be released only when he uses his knowledge of the bank's security systems to deposit 100 million dollars in Cox's account in an offshore bank. Stanfield is deeply wary but willing to go along to ensure the safety of his family, but when he has reason to doubt that Cox and his cohorts will live up to their end of the bargain, he swings into action to exact justice against the criminals. Firewall also stars Alan Arkin, Robert Forster, and Mary Lynn Rajskub. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

"By Tricia Olszewski Black Baltimore teens, by the time they’re 18, will have made a fashion choice: They’ll be wearing an orange jumpsuit with bracelets. Or a brown suit with a brown box. Or a gown, which comes with the nicer accessory of a high-school diploma. At least that’s what the recruiter for a two-year educational program in Africa says to potential students in The Boys of Baraka, Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady’s documentary about at-risk youth. According to the film, 76 percent of Baltimore’s black males don’t graduate from high school. In 1996, the Baltimore-based Abell Foundation, a group dedicated to aiding Maryland’s disenfranchised, founded the Baraka School, which selects 20 or so seventh- and eighth-graders with the bleakest futures to study in rural Kenya without the distractions of drugs, violence, and broken homes. The Boys of Baraka focuses on four of these students—Devon, Montrey, and brothers Richard and Romesh&m ... " [More]

"FIREWALL **1/2 starsPG-13 (for some intense sequences of violence)1 hr. 40 min.written by: Joe Forte IIIproduced by: Armyan Bernstein, Basil Iwanyk, & Jonathan Shestackdirected by: Richard LoncraineAlright, okay, I got suckered. I shoulda learned from the last time I went to a new Harrison Ford movie on opening weekend. It's just that, well, I grew up with the guy. Yeah, he was my hero. When I was 5 years old he was a Corellian space pirate. At age 9, he got me into archeology. The next year he had me dreaming of electronic sheep. When I was 13, I saw that being Amish could be cool. The next year how a man's obsession can overcome him to the point of losing his family. At 21, I saw him wrongly accused and on the run in the Windy City. But, Harrison, ya lost me at, "Get off my plane!" Since then you've had this grimacing, constipated look with a deep growl for almost every movie. Alright, it's not like he's gonna be reading this. But, man listen to your fans ya curmudgeon! Ah w ... " [More]

"For the first time, I really have to say I disliked a film. Well, I did not really dislike the film. I was just expecting more. It is Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones) but the movie just left me asking why and wanting more. " [More]
