Duck Dodgers [Animated TV Series] (2003)

Synopsis
Inspired by Chuck Jones' classic theatrical cartoon short Duck Dodgers and the 24 1/2th Century, this weekly, half-hour animated series takes off when a space capsule from the 21st century resurfaces 351 years later. Released from suspended animation, the bombastic Daffy Duck regales his futuristic rescuers with tall tales about his heroics. As a result of his prevarications, Daffy -- now known as Duck Dodgers -- is appointed captain of a star ship for the Earth's Defensive Protectorate. Porky Pig also signs on as Duck's Eager Young Space Cadet sidekick and, together, the two protagonists blast off to do battle against the forces of evil, as personified by Commander X-2 (alias Marvin Martian). Boasting two 11-minute cartoon adventures per episode, Duck Dodgers debuted August 23, 2003 on the Cartoon Network. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
