Directed by Uwe Boll.
Adapted from the popular Sega arcade video game of the same name, director Uwe Boll's action horror effort finds a group of partying teens stranded on an island and doing battle with a new breed of unusually mobile zombies. Looking for a place to party away spring break, college students Cynthia (Sonya Salomaa), Greg (Will Sanderson), and Karma (Enuka Okuma) hear rumors of a rave on a remote island in the Seattle area. Rushing to catch the party boat, the teens pick up friends Simon (Tyron Leitso) and Alicia (Ona Grauer), but discover upon arrival at the dock that the boat has set sail without them. Offering a few dollars to a local captain to hitch a ride to the island, the teens reach their destination only to find it eerily silent with no party in sight. Things go from bad to worse when the group is attacked by a mysterious creature, and they are forced to seek refuge in an old dark house on the island shore. Subsequently running into a few familiar faces and learning to their horror that the rave had been overrun by a horde of terrifying zombies, the group must now make one final bid for survival over the course of a long, blood-soaked night. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

"So understand this...I can make it through just about any sci-fi B movie out there. I mean frankenfish, time-traven dinosaur hunting, pretty much anything they can dredge up, I can justify watching for two hours. This, movie, however, I just couldn't do it. I didn't make it...and that's saying something... I hate Uwe Boll. Hate. " [More]

"Ok.... I don't think ANYONE should be 'banned' from making movies, no matter how bad they suck... I have seen 'House Of The Dead' and it truly sucks... this is probably the WORST movie I have ever seen! (and that is saying a LOT!) ... but it is STILL a Horror Movie and it is better than the best romantic comedy... So where does that leave us... I hate it because it is terrible and yet I still love it... " [More]

"I think it's a rather moot point. There are always going to be "good" directors and "bad" directors, "good" screenplays and "bad" screenplays, et. al. It may not be any kind of majority, but some people do like his films and I think he serves a purpose (however inane it may be).Personally, I had wanted to see Bloodrayne when I found out that Guinevere Turner was scripting it (I liked Go Fish and The Notorious Bettie Page and loved American Pyscho) and was completely horrified when I had seen the final product. Interestingly, I was able to talk with Guinevere in L.A. through a friend of mine that was friends with her friends or some weird six degrees of separation like that. Anyways, I wanted to talk to her about Bloodrayne and when I barely finished speaking the word she rolled her eyes and made a look of disgust on her face that pretty much explained everything. She briefly mentioned fighting with Boll and his people over the script and how most of it was taken out of her hand ... " [More]

"I was just reading on the SpoutBlog (here's the link to the article) about director Uwe Boll. If you haven't heard of him, he's the guy who directed such gems as House of the Dead and Bloodrayne. Apparently, there is a petition out to stop Boll from making any more movies. But, Boll said that it would take a million signatures to get him to stop filmmaking. The petition now has about 60,000 blog signatures.Okay. The SpoutBlog makes a good point that if you aren't going to see the movies anyway, why should you bother saying they suck in the first place? Well, here's a good reason: if you've seen House of the Dead, you know that it sucks. Really. Really. Hard. It sucks SO much, that when I, personally, heard that Boll directed Bloodrayne, I crossed it off my "to see" list. He also directed Alone in the Dark which, wasn't necessarily horrible, but it weren't good neither. All the movies he makes, by the way, are usually based on v ... " [More]

"This movie was okay until the end. Then, it turned out to be great ! I loved the end. It was mad dope, and I am sad that I have to buy this movie agian. I got rid of all my VHS's since I move way too much, but it's cool because DVD's are so much better. The only thing that got me about this movie was... OMG! When did Zombies start running... ? AND.... WTF? I didn't know they could swim. But the ending plot twist was a delicious topping that was well worth sitting through a somewhat boring film while being all stupified. The story of how they came to be was right up that oh yeah ally. " [More]

"Okay, I'm on a ROLL today, I guess it helps because I took this week off from work and don't have any stress this week!! That quote is from House of the Dead because I just saw it a couple of weeks ago on the SciFi Station again and that quote just cracked me up. Woooo-Hoooooo!!! Okay, I have to admit Ottobud, I kind of like this movie - I know, I'm so weird.Okay here is another one:"Who died and made you f*cking king of the zombies?" " [More]

"There have been several different zombie video games that have been turned into movies. For instance, Resident Evil (WOO!), Silent Hill, (though it is debatable whether some of the creatures in SH are actually zombies or just demons) House of the Dead and Doom. There also have been movies about zombies that have been turned into video games such as Army of Darkness and Evil Dead. I think that this can be either WAY COOL or WAY A BUNCH OF CRAP. House of the Dead, for instance, was just wasted celluloid, followed by an even worse sequel. I think Resident Evil, though, (the first one) was just genious. The zombies were awesome, and, if you have read some other posts in this group you would know that I think Alice is a badass and Milla Jovovich is my goddess. I do wish, though, that "Alice" had remained nameless in the credits because they never mention her name in the movie. And the Red Queen! What an ingenious idea! Creeptastic, also. And I will give it more credit by ackn ... " [More]

"*flexes fingers, cracks knuckles*Worthy contenders, all vying for the top spot (rated off the scale on http://bloodgutsandgore.com, are:"The Body Purging" from City of the Living Dead, the scene in the car where the young girl literally pukes her guts out. Seriously twisted and stomach-churning stuff."Blood Orgy" and "Way Off the Scale" from Darkness. The first is a jaw-dropper where a horde of vampires besets a young man and bleed him like a stuck pig. The second is the end sequence which seems to go on forever in which every bloodsucker gets caught up in the frenzy and forgets to duck inside before it gets light. They all, every one them, melts, blows up, seeps, comes apart and otherwise self-destructs."Far and Wide" from Day of the Dead [O]. Poor Captain Rhodes gets ripped to pieces and strewn about the place, muched on like a party platter."Party's Over" and "Fifty Gallons of Gore" from Dead Alive. The first is the singularly memorable, incomparable sequence where our ... " [More]
