Directed by Jesse Dylan.
Jesse Dylan's American Wedding rounds up the characters from the American Pie films for a trip to the altar. Jim (Jason Biggs) proposes to Michelle (Alyson Hannigan). Hoping to make the wedding day as special as possible for his bride, Jim enlists the help of his friends Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), and the always obnoxious Stifler (Seann William Scott) to help him convince a dressmaker to create the perfect gown, make a good impression on his future in-laws, and assist him in getting out of the embarrassing situations in which he so often seems to find himself. Stifler and Finch battle for the attention of Michelle's younger sister Cadence (January Jones), Jim's Grandmother objects to the wedding because Michelle is not Jewish, and Stiffler's poorly timed surprise bachelor party are just some of the obstacles that must be overcome before the happy event can transpire. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide

"This movie is worth seeing just for the opening sequence. While the second movie in the American Pie trilogy was completely forgettable, this third installment is actually pretty funny. Several of the original cast members are missing, but that’s totally realistic. How many of your high school friends were still your friends 5 or 6 years later after college? Finch, Stiffler, & Jim’s Dad were always the best part of these movies anyway. " [More]

"By Tricia Olszewski Michelle, the bride of American Wedding, didn't have to worry about procuring something blue for her big day. Like its predecessors, American Pies I and II, the film is all about balls-out bawdiness. Wedding reunites the majority of the cast from the earlier flicks to make two of the happy humpers respectable: Pie lover Jim (Jason Biggs) and band-geek-cum-nympho Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) are getting married, and best pals Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), and Stifler (Seann William Scott) are there to support. Even with new director Jesse Dylan (How High) at the wheel, the movie hums along much like its predecessors, with humor almost exclusively of the humiliation (Jim can't even groom himself without the world finding out) or gross-out variety (Stifler's continuing ingestion of unfortunate substances takes just the progression you suspected). The first half wavers slightly in tone with the appearance of Stifler: Whereas battles between ... " [More]
