Adventure is only limited by imagination in this exciting animated fantasy from The Goonies writer Chris Columbus. Warmly welcomed to the Kingdom of Slumberland by the king himself, young Nemo is christened heir to the throne and given a magical key that will open any door in the kingdom. Though Nemo is warned not to open the one door with the power to destroy Slumberland, temptation proves too strong and the king is kidnapped as a black cloud of nightmares washes over the formerly idyllic dreamscape. Now, if Nemo is to reverse his error and bring the king back alive, he must rally his friends and journey deep into Nightmare Land to face his ultimate fear. Will dreams ever return to Slumberland, or has Nemo's folly set into motion an irreversible, eternal echo of nightmares and chaos? ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

"I recently bought a vhs copy about a month ago ($2.00!) from a local flea market. I had been looking for some kind of copy for years and my patience was finally rewarded. This is truly a film that, although not as intelligent as a Miyazaki film, can still impress those who remember it from youth. Detailed animation, rich visuals and nostalgiac glaze all over. One forgotten classic I wouldn't mind having re-made as a gorgeous live action family flick. " [More]

I would have never known if my husband wouldn't have told me, and he wouldn't have known what I was talking about if he hadn't played the video game. Yeah, that's right... there was a game on the NES based off this movie. And this movie wasn't just one of those movies that you love when you're a kid and don't later on because I was actually able to watch the first half hour of this movie a year ago and still really enjoyed it.It's that story of a kid doing something he was told not to and of course being able to fix it after. This is what I wish cartoons were still like... and Flip is that charactor that every cartoon needs to bring to life to have us coming back for more. He smokes, drinks, and causes everyone trouble. While he is hated by all, we can't help but to love him. He is unforgettable as is ... " [More]
