Starring Aliki Georgouli, Eva Kotamanidou, Tania Palaiologou, Stratos Tzortzoglou, Michalis Zeke.

Produced, directed and written in his traditionally episodic fashion by Greek filmmaker Theo Angelopoulos, the internationally produced Landscape in the Mist concentrates on a pair of runaway children, played by Tania Palaiogou and Michalis Zeke. The kids are en route to Germany, where they believe their father is dwelling. The adventures during their trek range from heartwarming (the kids are briefly "adopted" by a group of itinerant actors and by affable cyclist Stratos Tzortzoglou) and harrowing (Palaiogou is raped by a callous truck driver). The film's title refers to the kids' perception of the "promised land" of Germany. Landscape in the Mist was the recipient of numerous festival awards, including the 1988 Venice Film Festival Silver Lion. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

All the bad things I heard were true. All the good things were false.You're movie is very pretentious, it's true. It lacks any feeling and holds no interest. I can't imagine how anything that is such an empty shell of an outline for a stereotypical arty foreign film could really be considered to be one of the best.One thing that was too bad, I don't think the DVD transfer that is out there shows the correct aspect ratio or the full frame of the original film. Although seeing the full extent of the original film might have made it slightly more impressive, I think that overall cannot make up much for the lack of any other interesting elements in the film.The sense of undeserved pretense here is just so overpowering, it sours any potential. "Here’s the dilemma. I have a list of well over three thousand movies I want to see saved on IMDB. I have a subscription to Netflix and recently every time I return a DVD it has been an extremely arduous task to make the decision as to which movie I should see next. In an effort to narrow down my choices and make the process of choosing slightly less overwhelming I have devised a system, almost a bit of a game for me. Here’s how it goes.For my first film selection, I have narrowed the options down to only films that were released in the year 2006. Then after I have watched that movie, my next selection would have to be a film released in 2005. Then I would see a film from 2004, then 2003, etc. The process of deciding is still laborious, but actually quite a bit more exciting.
