Csipetke (
Noodle) was billed as a "Hungarian march," another term for musical comedy. The title character is a ragtag newspaper vendor, played by Lizzy Balla. The plot dictates that the heroine must pose as an artist's model. Once she's dressed in expensive finery, Balla proves to be quite a dish, and soon every man in Budapest is pursuing her romantically. A few complications with the law notwithstanding, Balla finally enjoys a happy denouement with an eccentric painter. Reviews for Csipetke are confusing; some list it as a movie, others as a live presentation with film interludes. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
