Synopsis
Arguably the best of the 19 2-reel comedies Swedish-accented comedian
El Brendel
would do for the busy Columbia short subject department, Love at First Fright succeeded in spite of a trite plot that had Brendel as a radio announcer (Swedish dialect and all) caught in the middle of a hillbilly feud. Brendel was always a matter of taste, but for once the studio tailored a vehicle especially for him and it worked. The screenplay was by
Elwood Ullman
and
Harry Edwards
, both of whom also worked with the department's top money-makers,
The Three Stooges
