PBS Home video goes behind the scenes and visits the great old amusement parks.
Great Old Amusement Park provides a nostalgic past-to-present look at historic entertainment, hand-carved carousels, old-fashioned games, and wooden rollercoasters. Wooden rollercoasters such as the Caterlillar, the Whip, the Thunderbolt, and the Cannonball are featured. Once numbering 2000, these amusement parks have fallen to only 600 today. Amusement park buffs and historians are responsible for keeping this piece of Americana intact.
