Each character has a problem associated with using the potty, such as fear of the unknown and asking for permission, and Bear tries to help him or her overcome it. His gentle instruction and reminders are helpful to children who are interested in using the potty, but not quite sure how to start. Fun songs like "Potty Chair" and "I'm a Toileteer" add to the overall benefits of the program.
