Perhaps best known as the home of the punctual geyser dubbed "Old Faithful" by trailblazers, the Rocky Mountain area known as Yellowstone was set aside as a nature preserve by an Act of Congress that became law March 1, 1872. Originally aired January 31, 2001, this episode of the PBS television series The Living Edens profiles America's first national park. Hosted by Paul Schullery, who has written numerous books about Yellowstone, the program covers the geologic beginnings of the awe-inspiring landscape, and features outstanding footage of the area and its wealth of wildlife, including many once-endangered species that have revived. ~ Steve Blackburn, All Movie Guide
