Friday Foster (1975)

Synopsis
In this blaxploitation film, statuesque action star Pam Grier is cast as comic-strip heroine Friday Foster. A freelance photographer with an insatiable thirst for adventure, Friday unearths a conspiracy to assassinate several prominent black political leaders. The film also features Yaphet Kotto, Godfrey Cambridge, Eartha Kitt, and, as a "Godfather" type, Jim Backus. Created by Jim Lawrence and Jorge Longaron, the original Friday Foster cartoon strip ran from 1970 to 1974, one of the few collaborations of its kind between an American scriptwriter and a foreign artist. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
