I love how Barton becomes the picture of his daydreams in a way that's both dark yet transcendent. Finally out of the four walls of his apartment, in the fresh air, meets a girl, head in a box, on a beach. Seagulls.

This film redeems it's gritty violence with a metaphorical ending. I love films that end on a mystical note that seems to fully conclude the film without revealing all its secrets.

I don't remember the final scene right off hand, but I love how the film seems to get better as is progresses. I love Ray Liotta's monologue while driving around, in a paranoid drug haze, watching for helicopters, fixing spaghetti. Then, later, Joe Pesci not getting made.
