This film became a classic, the instant it hit screens. I'm amazed everytime I see it. A touching but painful look at a normal family, who's all but normal. It makes me look at my life and the life around me to put in perspective what really matters.

When I first saw this film, I thought it was genuis. But I have to admit the more I watch it, the more and more I find it to be somewhat of a biased statement that doesn't even say a whole lot, even though it's saying everything. I guess I'm trying to say that I think it tries too hard. That doesn't mean that I don't like it anymore, cause I do! I still cry at the end everytime, and I find Edward Norton's acting supurb!

I got this in a two-pack with Saving Private Ryan. I actually don't enjoy it that much, but I think it's a decent film, just forgetable. The story is great, but Matthew McConaughey's acting is so forced it's hard to look past it. As well as Djimon Hounsou's over the top performence usually just makes me more mad, instead of feeling for his character.

This film is in my top five. A definite favorite. The emotion, passion, and angst in this film comes over you like a whirlwind. And just as, when you are about to feel overwhelmed, it takes you away, to where you feel safe, then pulls you back in with another gripping story filled with powerful performances. A Great film. Alejandro's best.

I feel this is Alejandro's least effective film. It is beautifully pieced together, but at times lacks the information you need to create a story. Still a wonderful fim, and so much better than a lot of stuff out there, but I just wish Alejandro would've focused more on the stories, instead of trying to make it into something it wasn't: epic.
