Director Andrea Kreuzhage explores the "1000 Journals Project" launched by San Francisco graphic artist known as Someguy in this film that combines the storytelling of a documentary film with the thrill of a well-written detective story. Fascinated by the bizarre scribbling on bathroom walls and other public spaces that people choose to express themselves, Someguy disseminated the first of 1000 blank journals in August of 2000. As the books slowly made the rounds from person to person, the blank pages were filled with all sorts of ephemera including rants, stories, messages, and personal musings. Later, after 9/11, the pages of the journals began reflecting the grief of a defining event in our nation's history. Three years after the project began, only one of the journals had made its way back to San Francisco. This story documents Kreuzhage's globe-hopping quest to discover just what happened to the other 999 journals. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
