Hear me now and belive me later... United 93 is apolitical. Told in real time, you feel like you're watching an episode of 24 -- complete with the over-the-top script. Planes flown intentionally into buildings?!
1. Although it's a brutal story, and we all know that no one survived United flight 93 on 9/11, I will make myself re-watch this movie every couple of years. You'll notice some footage that you saw that morning and remember where you were, who you were with, and what you were doing. It brings all the emotions back. Without those emotions, I might forget that nothing has changed in the minds of the Islamofacists. They still want Americans -- me -- dead.
2. The real time, documentary style reinforces Greengrass' efforts to avoid any political positioning. You don't get forced into cheering for certain Dem or Rep Congressmen -- this is the story of the initial moments of terror. You're watching a bunch of your countrymen respond to unspeakable acts against Americans and anyone else unfortunate enough to be near them.
