This is a funny and touching film about an ex-seminarian, ex-soldier who deserted the Republican army and hides out in a small town during the Spanish Civil War. He is only supposed to stay the night in the house of a generous older man, but manages to avoid catching his train when he meets the man's four beautiful daughters. Fernando falls in love with each daughter.
