28 Weeks Later is the sequel to 28 days latter, one of my favorite zombie movies. Basically a section of London is secure and infection free. The section is controlled by the US army, who initiate a "Code Red" after a break out of the infection. A "Code Red" is when the Army has lost control of the outbreak and must kill everything in the city (including non-infected civilians). After given the order a special forces officer is griped with the decision to obey orders and contain the infection but kill innocent people, or help some of the people who have escaped the fire from other soldiers.
I thought the story was interesting and had some good plot twists, but I was not happy with the ending. I was hoping that the Special forces soldier would become a main character and bring the scientist and the children to safety where they would discover an immunity to the disease.
Along with the disappointing ending, I also found that 28 weeks latter was not as suspenseful as 28 days latter was, and the story did not keep you on the edge of your seat because for the most part it was extremely gory and sad. Normally I like gore but I think under the circumstances I was a little disturbing, especially the scene when the man finds his wife who was a carrier of the disease.
So overall I thought there was a decent story line, but I was not impressed with the ending, and the movie was defiantly not as suspenseful as 28 days latter or other good zombie movies. They also made no mention of what had happened in the previous movie which would have been nice because I can not remember a whole lot from that movie.
