This is the first movie I've seen in years where I was completely enthralled from start to finish. The Fall is also by far the best looking movie I've ever seen. Catinca Untaru is perfect and the least "actorly" child actor I've ever seen (which is a very, very good thing.) While the story told here by Roy (Pace) is not a very good narrative, it serves its purpose well; after all, the "epic" isn't really the point. The psychology behind the characters and the relation of the child's imagination to real life is the real meat here, and I loved every minute of it.
