I'm hearing a lot of negativity in the world concerning this poor little movie and it's way out of proportion (IMO). Nacho Libre is flat out funny if you like your comedies full of absurd, ridiculous moments. This is not the movie for you if you take yourself too seriously or think that every comedy must have a well developed story. Perhaps it is not for Ebert or Roeper or Joe Morgenstern of the Wall Street Journal but what do these men know about the absurd anyway? Are these critics funny guys? Have you ever seen one of them laugh? Look, I'm not saying this is a timeless classic I'm just saying it will make you laugh -- a lot. Let's be nice to this sweet little, juvenile movie. It's pretty damn funny. P.S. - This movie was directed by the same guy who did Napoleon Dynamite which is a much more observationally astute comedy but a less funny one. It's not that I didn't understand the humor in N.D., it just didn't make me laugh very much. Nacho is a funnier film. SlipoftheTongue
