This blog entry is part of my “movie year countdown”. To read more about that check out my first Spout filmblog entry.
Cat People
This is supposedly the first of the famous Val Lewton's psychological horror films. I personally couldn't find the thrill.
Maybe I'm as closed minded as the people who at the time said you have to show the monster and spell things out for everyone. But I don't think that's something I would say is normally true. Here we have a certain mood, but it's just not ominous or thrilling enough to grip me.
I wonder how many other people who saw this movie also found Jane Randolph to actually be more attractive than Simone Simon. Loved her in that bathing suit. What's the deal with those pointed breasts?
