Pokolenie (A Generation)
Andrzej Wajda's first feature film and my first Wajda film. Why is this not available on Netflix? The Criterion Collection box set of Wajda's first three films has been out for a while now. I was able to get this from a video rental shop in my town. But why does Netflix have some Criterion movies and not others? I don't get it.
Anyways I was thouroughly impressed. Although I wasn't too familiar with what was going on in that time and place, the script and direction really brings it alive. Also interesting to see Roman Polanski in an early role and Zbigniew Cybulski's very first appearance on film.
