Rubin and Ed

This is where you can see Crispin Glover's Rubin Farr character whose manner and dress he seemed to love so much that he has used in several other videos such as the music videos for his album The Big Problem ≠ The Solution. The Solution = Let It Be.  He also famously appeared this way on Late Night With David Letterman in which he almost kicks the host in the face and prompts him to end the interview early.  Glover still acts as though there is some controversy as to whether it was even him on the show and won't confirm it, although I don't know how anyone could believe it isn't him.

Glover is someone who I can love so much and can annoy me beyond belief for the same reasons.

I'd heard about Trent Harris and that this movie was a bit of a cult favorite.  I was excited when I saw it was available for rent at rare movie rental place in town.  However I was disappointed by what seems to me like just another lower budget, weird 80's style comedy.

Here Glover teams up with Howard Hesseman (you know from Head of the Class).  The beginning starts out promising enough with a rather funny stab at those business seminar scams.  But a lot of the aspects of the movie that are supposed to be the main points of weird comedy are just more forcibly weird and not terribly inspired.

I'm still however quiet curious to see Trent Harris's The Beaver Trilogy.  Even if it's horrible, it sounds interesting.
