'The lesson I got from this' is just like 'the lesson I got from the Gospel': if you go against the-powers-that-be, you're going to go down and your whole world is going to crumble.
But--if the-powers-that-be are wrong and their wrongness comes into battle against your documented rightness--your rightness continually destroys their wrongness through to the end of time!
