This romantic story knocked for a loop. With lots of laughs and great characterizations, CHANNELS works on several levels. The comedy and romance kept me entertained, while thoughts about time and what our "reality" is, slowly embodied the movie.
This imaginative story was written and directed by Nat Christian, an artist with his own voice. Like a skilled artist, Christian deals with the latter subject intelligently, and never goes for shock elements.
He also plays the lead role with nuance and real specificity, that makes him quite an interesting actor to observe. Kim Oja plays his romantic interest. She is a compelling actress who is quite talented. She demonstrates this by playing two roles in the movie.
The rest of the actors - Ed Asner, John Kassir, Taylor Negron, Joan Van Ark, bring their marvelous talents to this darling film.
The production support by Dolores Piazza (production design), Duane Condor (VFX) and Michael Hardwick is first rate. The film score by Rossano Galante is fabulous.
