I watched Edge of Heaven during the Vancouver International Film Festival a mere 2 weeks ago and I'm still remembering the gorgeous cinematography and strong characters.
Everything was top notch in this film: acting, dialogue, cinematography, pacing, realism. I thought the strongest acting came from Hanna Schygulla who was a regular in Fassbinder's films.
For me, this film is about forgiveness and when that theme hits you at the end of the film, it hits you hard. I literally felt fragile while leaving the theatre.
