Uncannily similar to David Fincher's Se7en, Anamorph follows two detectives trying to piece together a string of elaborate murders that resemble the work of a supposedly dead serial killer from the past. Still traumatized by the events from the madman's first series of murders, Stan (Willem Dafoe) must piece together the puzzle before more innocent people die. Not the most original storyline, yet the use of anamorphosis as the killer's method of staging his murdered victims is rather captivating in that "wow-that-is-totally-f***ed-up-yet-kinda-cool" way. Unfortunately suffers from too many pointless flashbacks, unresolved character arcs and a general malaise from most of the characters that spreads to the viewer.
