    Hot Fuzz  (2007)

I couldnt wait to see this movie. I loved Shawn of the Dead so much so I was really looking forward to seeing this one. And I wasnt disappointed. I love the way Simon and Nick plays off each other. Great chemisty. What I loved about it is even if you didnt see Shawn, you got the jokes anyways. However I loved the fact that placed some of the most funnyest stuff from Shaun is in Hot Stuff. From the comparing of town people and what they do to... them jumping over the fences. The best thing about it is you had to watch it a couple of times (just like Shawn) and catch what is going on in the back drop. Funny! The best part of the move was the ending. Paying tribute to every cop movie ever made. The action was not only very well done, but funny as hell. So if you get into British humor, this is a must see movie.

  • Hitcher...one of the better remakes.

    The Hitcher  (2007)

When I first seen this remake, I went in with an open mind. The first Hitcher was pretty good for its time. Atypical 80's movie. So I wanted to see if this Hitcher was better. By far, it was better. Though the plot did mirror the other Hitcher, it was far better written as well as acted. Most importantly, this Hitcher didnt really have the woman as the victim as it was in the first movie. In this Hitcher, the woman could be called the hero. And you find yourself routing for her at the end of the movie...DO IT!.  Which I duely applaud.

Sean Bean was very believable as a crazed killer. As Sophia Bush's character, knew from the begining that there was something not quite right with dude. I do think that the Zachary Knighton character could have bigger balls than he did. He just seemed to be somewhat of a pansy.

The best scene in the hole movie was when the he had Knighton character tied between the trucks. You really didnt think the Hitcher would split him, but then he does. That was the same premise as in the first Hitcher kept the girl was caught inbetween the trucks, and they didnt show what happen when he gunned the truck, in this one, with all the blood and gore that is expected it was just great. Made me hide my face.

If you want to see it the way I seen this movie, not only get this Hitcher but get the 80's one and watch it side by side. By far, this was the better Hitcher.

    Serenity  (2005)

If you were a fan of Firefly, you knows exactly what I am talking about. Firefly was an orginal creation by Josh Wheaton. For some reason the powers that be (FOX) decided that it wasnt a good enough television series that they canceled way before it had a real chance to florish. Little did they know that an underground movement would push back and have a huge cult following. So large in fact that they decided to come out with the movie Serenity.

Serenity was a huge hit not only among the loyal brown coats, but also for those who never had actually watched the series or let alone knew that it existed. What was so great about the movie was you didnt have to be a fan of Firefly to enjoy Serenity. It was a movie within its own self. The plot was good as well as the acting and the special effects. Everything tied up neatly and centered around the explaination of what River Tam really knew about the Alliance. But how it effected all of them.

Without giving anything away, you must either rent the movie or catch it on cable, better yet, buy the movie. It would be a wonderful addition to anyone's scifi collection. It well worth taking the chance and watch it. To fall in love with it and make it a cult hit just like the television series. Besides who knows, it might go from being the televison series Firefly, to the movie Serenity back to the televison series. One could only hope.
