    Them  (2006)

First off I am not a fan of "Fangoria". I more the independent filmzine, then anything! But this months issue caught me by surprise because it had a whole thing on, "French frights: Splatter's New Wave". I am huge fan of of the french gore. This wasnt a gore flick, more pyschological, then anything else. Saying that is was one of the scariest films of all times, like its listed on half dozen blogs and reviews, is pretty foolish, in my opinion. What I truly liked about it was the ending. But in all retrospect you couldn't classify this film in the lines of other french notables such as "Sheitan" and "Haute tension"  that was released in the last couple year .

I am huge Argento Fan. It was good to see Dario and his Muse/exwife Daria working together again. Asia was fantastic once again! I am not going to sit here and beat around the bush, Its the weakest of the three in the "Mothers trilogy". I still can't get over the begining, I just love the kalidascope of occult art!  Phenomenal! For some reason, the beginning just hit me, like all Argento films, the color sceme and cimatography.

  • Cannibalism at its best!

I have a hard time writing reviews. I watch alot of independent and obscure films. This one came across my table through another friend of mine, that  knew I was into the whole cannibal exploitation genre. If there is such a thing. Iam not a fan of Vincent Gallo but I like Beatrice Dalle. And the director Claire Denis superb. Then I heard people were fainting at the Cannes and the first film that came to mind for that type of raw emotion was,"Irreversible", which I loved. So I sat down and watche it and all i am going to say is that, this is the philosophical cannibal movie. It s an extremely interesting arthouse film to watch.
