  • What Hillary Should Say -- Advice from Films

    Street Fighter  (1994)

What Hillary might, can, and/or should say, courtesy of the cinema.

If she decides the nomination is still worth pursuing, she would do well to rewatch Street Fighter (1994) and take her cue from Jean-Claude Van Damme.

    Street Fighter re-write:
The pundits and party elders say this fight is over, we can all go home... But, we can all go home, meanwhile, ideals like truly universal health care, counting every vote and making history, they get packed up, and we can all go home. Well, I'm not going home. I'm going to get on a plane and I'm going to Denver and I'm going to kick that son-of-a-bitch Barack's ass so hard that the next inexperienced wannabe's gonna feel it. Now who wants to go home and who wants to go with me?

Well, maybe not that last part. But you get the point.

    Original clip:

President Clinton is already taking a beating from the pundits who ask "Did Bill kill Hillary's campaign?" The coverage of this campaign has been sensationalized and hyper-scrutinized, and blatantly unfair. But he should've expected that -- after all, they are the Clintons.

When talking to Bill, someone close to Bill (maybe Chelsea) should invoke Morgan Freeman's character in Million Dollar Baby (2004).

BILL: Its my fault - I killed her chances.

FRIEND: Don't say that. Hillary walked through that door with nothing but passion. No chance in the world of being what the media wanted her to be. It was because of you that she was fighting to be the leader of the world. You did that. Dreams die every day - and you know what most people's last thought is? I never got my shot. Because of you, Hillary got her shot. If she dies today you know what her last thought would be? I think I did all right.

    Watch the scene here.

Hillary will need confront Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Donna Brazile, and the rest of the progressive-in-name-only Democrats who think its okay for the Democratic Party to abandon its base of women, Hispanic, and working-class voters.

A Clockwork Orange's Alex shows her how to deal with bullies who think they know best.

HILLARY: Welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, well. To what do I owe the extreme pleasure of this surprising visit?

HOWARD DEAN: We got worried, there we were waiting and drinking away at the old knifey Moloko and you had not conceded. And we thought you might have been like offended by something or other so around we come to your abode.

HILLARY: Appy-Polly-Loggies. Its been a long primary season, and I have earned the right to take a few days to reflect on the experience before making any decision.

PELOSI: We're sorry you lost, but there's no time to waste. You sure the pain is gone? You sure you might be happier back in New York.

HILLARY: Lets get things nice and sparkling clear. This sarcasm, if I might call it such, does not become you. Now then, Barack. What does that great big horsey gape of a grin portend.

DONNA: All Right, no more picking on Barack, Hillary. That's part of the new way. He's the chosen one.

HILLARY: New way? What's this about a new way? There's been some very large talk behind my back, I know it.

HILLARY: I had not cut into any of the Party's funding, because as far as I was concerned I could still be the nominee, but with the help of a few phonecalls to women Democratic fundraisers, the money train stopped and it did not take long to quiet the two party bosses down. Now they knew who was master and leader. Sheep, thought I, but a real leader knows, always when like to give and show generous to her unders. Well, now we're back to where we were, yes? Just like before and all forgotten? Right, right? Right, right? Right, right?

"Once" - modern day musical - heartwarming with a great soundtrack.
