  • Darling, If you haven't yet had Breakfast at Tiffany's, you simply must try!

I originally wrote this little blurb as a discussion within the group "Adoring Audrey."  I thought I might as well share it via my film blog as well.   For more conversations about fantastic films featuring Miss Hepburn, please do visit our little group.

For me, Breakfast at Tiffany's is like the "comfort food of film."  (That, and Anne of Green Gables).  And some weekends,  you just need your couch and that good old film friend.  I got to do just that this weekend.  I was recently given the anniversary edition of Breakfast at Tiffany's, and while I'm not usually big into all the special features, these are definitely worthwhile!  Directors commentary, a letter from Audrey to Tiffany's, original movie trailers, and the BEST part, a section titled "So Audrey" - detailing her effortless beauty and certain fashion sense that impressed the world then and continues today to be a fount of inspiration to designers and consumers alike.  It describes how the use of "that's so Audrey" has become nearly the ultimate complimentary, fashion-related adjective.  I highly recommend adding this anniversary edition to your collection.

And for those who have yet to taste Breakfast at Tiffany's, I'll leave a few enticing morsels.  Beginning with Audrey's traditionally impressive performance.  Her character is brave, bold and elusive, with a hint of "likeable craze." The film is quirky, edgy and charming - both in character and content.  It's delightfully, or maybe, "refreshingly" unpredictable.   The fashion and decor are certainly beyond my adequate description, suffice to say, it's brilliant. There's mafia, rowdiness, manipulation, copious use of "dahhhling," Tiffany's and of course, romance with the "new guy in the apartment building."  And finally, every one should meet a character named "Sally Tomato"once in their life.

    Enjoy!
