Mary Pickford: The Muse of the Movies (2008)

I saw this excellent documentary at the film festival in Kansas City. Mary Pickford was the Oprah of her day. At 16 she was the first actor to get star billing on the posters and the marquee. At age 35 or so she retired from acting as the richest woman in the world, a cofounder or United Artist. Nicholas Eliopoulos shows why his talent has been rewarded with Emmy's and a Golden reel. Mary Pickford narrates much of the movie through audio and video interviews that are woven in to tell the story. It's an incredible work

Get a Clue! (1997)

This is without a doubt the worse movie I have ever seen. At one point in the move Edgar Plum tells Angela Wexler to "come over here and Adore me!" That doesn't even sum up how bad it is. The actors were horrible, and so was the screenplay.

Walt Disney Presents: Wild Burro of the West (1960)

This is a severely cute movie. I love the classic black and whites (which are now slowly fading into the background more than one would like). The storyline is easy to follow, and the emotions are easy to come by with this film. Please please please hunt this movie down and watch it!

I think this movie is very inspiring.

It shows how us humans have evolved and how we almost didn't make it.

It is a very good portrayal of human evolution and the real-life fossils are fascinating!

The look on the face of the girl tells she knows it

The Good Student (2009)

There is at least little amount of crush for the teacher on the student. He is the main suspect, while the whole world is led to believe he is not the one. The movie doesn't twist or turn for first 45 minutes or so. Her father is a freak, and led to believe he is the suspect for scamming car marketing clearance sale. In the end, the girl will be simply left in her home with hands tied. The girl says, at least I know my father loves me and she gives a look to the teacher. The look tells that she knows he has kidnapped her and he released her. The following might be the reasons, he kidnappned her:

1. This could be for the reason, everyone thinks he has crush on the girll. He wants to clear up his name that he is not.

2. He wanted to do kidnap her and do something, but he walks away in the end, by changing his mind.

Any other thoughts?

A Film With Me in It (2008)

I think i was the only one in the cinema who was actually freaked out by this movie, everyone laughed at the black humour, i was a little freaked my 90% of it. Saying this it was brilliantly done, i love Dylan Moran. Also the ending was fabulous!

Into the West, with Gabriel Byrne, Colin Meaney, and Ellen Barkin

Into the West (1993)

This movie is mysterious, mythical, and magical. The majestic white stallion leads the two young brothers and their Papa back into the past to resurrect memories of their dead mother and then to allow them to "let her go." The stallion's role in the movie is what kept me wondering. Papa says at one point, "Why is that stallion always leading us to places where we've been?" I love this movie. The boys are wonderful! From the slums of Dublin to the wondrous Irish countryside, the film captured my rapt attention.
