Black snake moan is not to be taken too seriously, it's more of a fantasy than anything else, Told like a tall tale of the deep south, and it works very well. Graig Brewer's first film Hustle and flow was a pleasent surprise for me, and just like in hustle and flow Brewer makes the music one of the main charaters. Sam Jackson was born for this role, and he is so believable in it., for me it's the best proformance in one of the best movies of the young year.
