The Dark Knight  (2008)

5 or 6 times throughout the movie, I found myself sitting there with this stupid grin on my face.  Who knows how many times it happened when I didn't realize it.  I probably looked like some kind of freak.

Anyway...I took my 12 and 14 year old, and it was one of those movies that you gush about together the entire way home.  My pal brought along his 10 year old, however, and it was a little intense for him.  I guess he was a bit rattled on the way home.

If you can see it on IMAX, then pay the extra couple bucks.  Totally worth it.

Absolutely met my expectations...and then some!

I Am Legend  (2007)

This movie was so close.  For the first hour, I was dead sure I was going to add this to my collection.  Then, it turned into your typical monster movie.  Ah well.

Still...it's worth watching...at least once, anyway.

Crimson Tide  (1995)

Ok, so, fine...I have a thing for submarine movies.  I can't help it.  It's what I do...so take this with a grain of salt.

I really dig this movie.  You know what makes it interesting (aside from the great story, action and acting) is the fact that it's hard to know who the bad guy is.

I mean...I know what the writer / director wants me to think...but in reality, there's no black and white here...just lots of gray.

Totally worth watching.

Hancock  (2008)

Not exactly ground-breaking...but it was a solid, fun movie. 

I took my 12 and 14 year old to it, and in hindsight (if you saw it, you'll think that's funny) maybe I shouldn't have taken them.  Some of the language was a bit rough, and some of the humor was pretty dodgy.

All that being said, I liked the premise, and the movie delivered a lot of laughs and action...but maybe better suited for a night out with the guys after nachos and beer.
