While not being a huge fan of the opera, I will admit to almost wanting to be in the audience during the filming of this opera. This is my first time seeing an Ingmar Bergman film, and even though I hear it's not much like anything else he's done, I thought this was very artfully choreographed. The music is fantastic, and the feel is appropriately "stagey". Not a bad start, I believe, to Ingmar Bergman's oeuvre.
