  • A Nice Treatment For The Series

This is a killer box set from Universal. But this is all that's available on DVD. You get the whole trilogy, or nothing at all, and if you're like me (I only REALLY like the first film), the other two discs hardly ever get to spin. But regardless of the films themselves, there are more extra features packed onto these three DVDs than you'll probably ever need. I kind of wish they'd release these films separately, but I'm glad to have BTTF on DVD at all.

  • FINALLY...The End

Nowhere near as good as the first film, but far better than the second, I'm glad they stopped here, because the series comes sputtering to a halt. I can't say I watch either of the sequels very often, as they seem like money-making vehicles rather than continuing to tell an interesting story. Tom Wilson continues to ham it up, and Michael J. Fox has become a caricature of himself, as everything seems forced and cliched. Christopher Lloyd is the only reason I even watch this one anymore, and after he did the first two Addams Family films, fell into the moat of cheesy family crap (although he has done a handful of smaller indie films that are of note). Sorry folks...I know I'll get flack for this but this is Spielberg and company at their film-ruining, uncreative worst.

  • Stumbles Along

I know I gave a glowing review of Part I, and initially, when I saw this back in the theater in 1989, I LOVED it. But I was a little kid enamored with the first film, and now that I'm older and wiser (I hope), I don't think this film is all that good. The acting is WAY too broad and theatrical, mostly thanks to Tom Wilson's hammy portrayal of the entire Tannen clan. Elisabeth Shue and Christopher Lloyd are also cringe-worthy in a handful of scenes (the double-fainting Jennifer Parker/McFly scene comes to mind). Sadly, you have to sit through THIS film to get to the third in the trilogy, which more or less makes up for this somewhat pointless film.

  • Who DOESN'T Love This Film?!?

What good could a review do here? We've ALL seen this film, and even if we don't LOVE it, we at least ENJOY it. I fall under the categorty of LOVING this film. There are so many quotable lines and inspired moments of madness (and, of course, it's a film that my parents didn't mind if I watched a million after-school evenings). I don't think I'm alone when I say this is one of the best action/adventure/comedy/sci-fi films ever made.

    Queens Logic  (1991)

Oh man...not my cup of tea. I forced myself to finish this film. I don't know what I didn't like about it...the screenplay or Joe Mantegna. The lines sounded absolutely flat coming out of his mouth. I can't say I'm a fan of Chloe Webb, either. Actually, the only reason I watched this film was because Tom Waits is in it...and all of about 4 minutes. I can almost assure you I will never watch this film again...sorry, Tom. The 80's yuppie Queens mentality just isn't my thing.
