Woody's First Is Mostly A Hit
I found the rare Anchor Bay Widescreen release of this film at CD/DVD Exchange the other day and quickly bought it. I don't see how anyone couldn't like Woody Allen films - they're quirky and witty and silly...different strokes for different folks, I guess. This being his first writer/actor/director film, he looks very young and the sarcasm is laid on thick. Told in documentary style, it's an obvious first attempt at what he would later perfect with Zelig. Not a bad beginning to a long career.
