magic realism...sad...frightening...not for the faint of heart and not for children...this is one of those film that come along once a decade that takes the viewer to places that were unknown but imagined...in nightmares and in dreams...surreal and uneasy...there have been films that have touched upon similar issues, but none that have devoured so much in one bite...a modern classic...
