  • The Simpsons Movie does whatever the regular tv show can?

Wow, I have watched the Simpsons on and off since I was about nine years old, and this definitely pleased me. It may have not been epic, but I am very happy that I took the time to go see it. Lisa finally found someone who understands her, Bart is once again tempted to be a Flander, and of course home gets a new pet. I think it was great that this movie came out just when it seemed like the Simpsons were dying down a little. At least that's how it was where I am. If this film had been made any sooner it would have been too soon.
The plot was hilarious, especially to me since I care about the enviornment. The jokes were great and relevent, but at the same time they weren't just like any good Simpsons episode. I definitely give it four stars, even if those laughs that I made weren't deep belly laughs. I still left the theatre singing along to Spider-pig and that's all that matters.

  • what a disapointment! (spoilers)

The hype behind this movie was incredible, and just like so many movies these days it completely did not live up to it. All of the fight sequences and running around were complete with a shaky camera that just made me feel sick. The one real fight scene was led up to with a painfully long chase that resulted in an all too disapointing "fight." Complete with camera shots of random body parts really close up; obviosuly, to communicate to us that the fight scene really wansn't exciting enough to just be filmed from a distance. Julia Stiles character had no depth and probably said about 3 words. To be honest I don't think she was even needed in this movie.

Entertainment is something with substance and a plot, and that is exactly what this movie lacked. Thank you hollywood for another crap movie where the actors don't really act they just run around.

Oh, and if you haven't seen it yet stayed tuned for the ending. I seriously felt like I was watching another Halloween movie. Will someone cue the music for me?

    Brick  (2005)

One evening I was walking downtown with my significant other. We have this theatre in my town that always plays an independant movie and changes it every week. I always sounded like a snob because  at one point movies really became horrible. So horrible, I didn't want to see them anymore; this was the only place I would go.

Anyway, I saw the name and it sounded intriguing. I knew nothing of the film before I saw it. As soon as it started I was taken into this world of noir. The language was difficult to understand the first time I saw it, but all that did was make this want inside me to watch it even more. The body language did all it could to assist the hard to understand language. I was taken in by the beauty of Brenden and his beliefs. All he did for that girl and the importance of her in his life seemed like something I couldn't ever imagine. I am young, but I will say that this movie changed my life and how I think of film. I have always loved theatre and inside had a small grudge against film because I felt like it took away so much from theatre. However, this film gave back to me what theatre never could. Film makes you see things and the beauty that  is captured in this film was what made film be born inside of me.

I don't want to build it up so much that you are dissapointed, which is what I've probably already done, but if you love film and you can see the art in it. You will appreciate this film.

  • more than a movie

For me this broke the movie lines. It's more than a movie, it's a story that will keep going. I'm just so glad that people like these two great people actually went out there and got their message out to people no matter what is costs. I stubbled upon this movie from a friend, and I know that I'm going to share it with my friends.
It may not have been a full-length hollywood thousands of dollar film, but that is the beauty of it. The fact that such a complex story can be told with just the ambition of two people. It really touches me, and it really inspires me.
