    Brick  (2005)

One evening I was walking downtown with my significant other. We have this theatre in my town that always plays an independant movie and changes it every week. I always sounded like a snob because  at one point movies really became horrible. So horrible, I didn't want to see them anymore; this was the only place I would go.

Anyway, I saw the name and it sounded intriguing. I knew nothing of the film before I saw it. As soon as it started I was taken into this world of noir. The language was difficult to understand the first time I saw it, but all that did was make this want inside me to watch it even more. The body language did all it could to assist the hard to understand language. I was taken in by the beauty of Brenden and his beliefs. All he did for that girl and the importance of her in his life seemed like something I couldn't ever imagine. I am young, but I will say that this movie changed my life and how I think of film. I have always loved theatre and inside had a small grudge against film because I felt like it took away so much from theatre. However, this film gave back to me what theatre never could. Film makes you see things and the beauty that  is captured in this film was what made film be born inside of me.

I don't want to build it up so much that you are dissapointed, which is what I've probably already done, but if you love film and you can see the art in it. You will appreciate this film.

For me this broke the movie lines. It's more than a movie, it's a story that will keep going. I'm just so glad that people like these two great people actually went out there and got their message out to people no matter what is costs. I stubbled upon this movie from a friend, and I know that I'm going to share it with my friends.
It may not have been a full-length hollywood thousands of dollar film, but that is the beauty of it. The fact that such a complex story can be told with just the ambition of two people. It really touches me, and it really inspires me.
