Thought-provoking beauty

Under discussion:

I saw this film in NYC and now own a copy; this is one to see again and again (I've seen it 3 times already) and share with friends.  It moved me emotionally, it made me think, it was beautiful to look at.  The people I was with in NY spent a long time afterwards just talking about the intricate entanglements of the characters--all of which were brilliantly performed by the ensemble of actors, most notably David Strathairn, of course, as well as Jane Adams and Ian Somerhalder, who proved he's actually a very talented actor, not just a pretty face on the first season of Lost.  If you buy a DVD, as I did, be sure to watch the interesting 30-minute doc on "The Making of The Sensation of Sight".  It's hard to believe they made this beauty in 18 days. This is a unique indie that will be most enjoyed by people who like art films and foreign films.  If escapist entertainment is your thing, don't bother!
