This film was not what I had expected, and I guess I should have read the book first. My eight year old suggested we put this one on our queue after seeing the trailer when it was realeased to dvd. I wish someone would have warned us not to watch this film so close to my "womanly time" and also not until my son was a bit older so he could understand the need for the tragedy in the film. I had to spend the better part of bedtime explaining why things played out as they did so my son could stop crying and get to sleep. I did enjoy the film though I spent the last half sniffling and putting on a brave face for my son.
