I found the surroundings interesting (being an art school student myself) and the characters in it seemed suitable but I just got really fed up with the main character`s problems to make up his mind. He was so passive it got annoying. It made the whole movie passive.

    Ok movie but nothing spectacular.

I just saw your movie on Youtube and therefor joinen Spout. So I think I owe you guys a review.

I loved it. It felt real and fresh. Beautifully pictured. Fluent (...ok. this is getting more of a line of adjectives than a review)

Also i felt related to the social struggles of the main couple like any online-artist-youtube-youngster would. Looks familiar.

    Thanks & congratulations!

    Hi Spout!

I would love to list all the movies which moved me lately but that would take too much time cause like any self respecting movie fan Ive seen more than I can mention.  Instead Im gonna tell about movie I saw last night.

After the Wedding (Efter brylluppet 2006)  is a film from Denmark. Last year Oscar nominated in the best foreign film category. It tells a story of a man, Jacob, who has to make decision between the familiar ideal ideas of youth (saving the world) and the reality he was not aware of (saving his family).

The movie was strong and touching drama with absolutely fantastic acting work that got close to the skin. Director Susanne Bier used a lot close ups of peoples eyes and faces. She was able to demonstrate the storming of feelings inside the characters in such a delicate way it was not only beliavable but also enjoyable.

Most of the story took place in rich, clean and green Denmark. While demonstrating the poor kids of India it didn´t raise the contrast to be black and white. Money didnt create a paradise but neither did poverty. The personal choices are always the hardest ones regardless the surrounding.

I recommend After the Wedding for all viewers looking for good family oriented drama!

    take care,

    Elli :)
