Fever Pitch (2005)

I don't no why I continuously get these kinds of movies. The stories are always mediocre there is never enough comedy and I usually don't buy that the couple really would get together. This was no exception I don't know how the Farrely brothers are so famous I didn't like any of their films except for There's Something About Mary. Anyway thats all I can really say about Fever Pitch well I guess there is one other thing DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Very Original Pack of Horror Tales

Creepshow (1982)

From Stephen King and George Romero comes a collection of four out of this world horror stories. As a big fan of horror just having those two names attached to it was enough to get me to see it and I was pleasantly surprised by what I got. The stories are very well put together and very well acted by performers like Ed Harris, Ted Danson, Leslie Neilson and even King himself. I have to say that I really enjoyed the campiness of these tales and thought that nothing was too overdone everything was subtle enough to be tongue in cheek but it was never over the top. Any way a defenite must see for the scare season.

Deeply disturbing and very Compelling

Heavenly Creatures (1994)

Of course we all know Peter Jackson from the lavish Lord of the Rings films and I have to say now that I have looked at some of his other work I am glad that he has been able to branch out. Heavenly Creatures is beautifully shot, acted to perfection and enthralling from frame one. I was able to spot some of the trademark Jackson shots and the always present Jackson cameo and I loved it. Kate Winslet is one of my favorite actresses and she truly steals the show here. Overall this is a perfect film with a little mix of everything romance, comedy, intense family drama, action/suspense and even some disturbing horror elements. So if you can handle the drastic elements of the story definiltey give this film a watch and see New Zealand's finest at work. The DVD has no special features aside from a trailer for this movie and some sneak peaks so I would say it's only worth a rent.

Great Comic Book Adaptation

Daredevil (2003)

I am a really big fan of the Daredevil books, that being said I think that the film makers did an excellent job with the adaptation. Ben Affleck is the perfect person to put on the costume and play the duel identity Matt Murdock, he has the build to be believable as Daredevil and he has the emotion and depth for the blind lawyer. Jennifer Garner is a nice fit for Elektra and her and Affleck have great chemistry together. I must say this about Colin Farrel though I like him as a performer and think that he has made some great films but I think his bullseye is just a little to over the top and forgive the pun but just a little to comic bookish. All of the action is beautifully chereographed and the cinematography is the best of the genre since The Crow. Overall as far as comic book films go I think this is one of the best and well worth a rent. There are also some great special features on disc two as well so that is definitley worth checking out.
