    Death Proof  (2007)

I have to admit, I don't like a lot of blood and gore, even though I am a major horror fan but Quentin Tarantino has some good, sadistically fun movies.  SPOILER ALERT:  Here is a man who gets his kicks by killing women who are beautiful, fun, maybe semi famous, he's a serial killer and loves to push the envelope to see if he can survive in his death proof car.  I thought it was pretty cool.  I had NO expectations of this movie and just thought I'd watch it on DVD to see what all the hype was about (of course I was the same with the Kill Bill movies which I REALLY loved), anyway, I enjoyed it, I just kind of sat there and watched the story of this crazy maniac and him finally tangling with the WRONG girls who were just as crazy as he is.  I loved the revenge part!  Anyway, I think if you don't have any expectations of this film, and aren't expecting a whole huge plot, etc.  You might like it.

I hadn't watched an American Werewolf in London for quite a while and thought I'd revisit it.  I just LOVE this movie and can't understand why people don't like it.  For the early 1980s this film was considered a masterpiece in makeup and animatronics (NO CGI PEOPLE), it was pretty revolutionary and still looks pretty great.  David Naughton is not the best actor in the world but he's cute and looks like the boy next door type, I remember when I first saw it at the theater, I think I was 14 or so, and seeing that love scene I thought was so hot...hee hee.  Now I watch it and think Oh my God they had no chemistry and that love scene was really awkward and very lame.  I just love it when his friend Jack keeps visiting him and then all the other people he has killed.  The ending was sad, but it was pretty good, I really didn't like what the werewolf looked like in the end but it was a very worthwhile movie.

I admit that I am a big of a Simpsons fan, I've kind of lost interest in the last few years and haven't seen a lot of the new episodes, but I thought the movie was pretty cute and had some very funny jokes and scenes.  I always love it how poor Homer just seems to screw up everything but you know somehow he will have to fix it.  I loved the little naked Bart riding his skateboard and his little classmate (I can't think of his name) saying, hey, I think I'm gay now.  So cute.  Anyway, it was entertaining and fun, not OUTSTANDING, but it was very cute and worth a watch...
